Tuesday, July 14, 2015
11:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Learn about 5 Gyres' initiative against plastic microbeads and marine plastic pollution from 5 Gyres Executive Director and Co-founder Anna Cummins. Anna's presentation will touch on the marine degradability of plastics and bioplastics, the unintended consequences of novel materials, 5 Gyres' work to gain corporate commitments to use alternative materials, and their push for a national microbeads ban. Attendees will learn how a leading NGO has pushed for change and found success.
