Jim South of the Nature Conservancy and Johnathan DiMuro of the Dow Chemical Company will present an overview of The Nature Conservancy and Dow collaboration. The collaboration was announced to help Dow and the business community recognize, value, and incorporate nature into global business goals, decisions, and strategies. The global organizations are applying scientific knowledge and experience to develop methods and tools for companies to use by examining how Dow’s operations rely on and impact nature. This session will discuss results from the first pilot site in Freeport, TX.
Jim South, The Nature Conservancy - Dow Collaboration Lead, The Nature Conservancy
Jim is managing all aspects of the collaboration and ultimately steering the group towards their common vision. Prior to joining The Nature Conservancy, Jim led efforts to instill sustainability into the operations of two D.C. government agencies as the Associate Director of Energy and Sustainability Management.
Johnathan DiMuro, Sustainability Manager, The Dow Chemical Company
John serves as the Dow Project Manager for the Dow – Nature Conservancy Collaboration and Technical Lead for Dow on Ecosystem Services. In this role, he identifies and leads the incorporation of ecosystem services analysis methods into Dow’s businesses, units and functions.
